Board

Accelerate Cape Town is professionally managed by an extremely experienced board that takes overall responsibility for the organisation. Its role is to exercise leadership and sound judgment in directing the organisation to achieve continued growth and to act in the best interests of members.

The board comprises 12 directors and in accordance with Accelerate Cape Town’s articles of association, 6 board members including the Chairman have been appointed by corporate sponsors and three by member companies. There are three independent board members on the board. The board is led by Tim Bashall, the Chairman, while operational management of the company is the responsibility of Guy Lundy, Chief Executive Officer. Meet our board members:

Samora is the Chief Operations Officer of Circle Capital Ventures

harvey Harvey Christophers Deloitte
Harvey is the Regional Leader of Deloitte in the Western Cape and the lead director on services to some of Deloitte’s largest clients in the Cape.

mike Mike Thompson Independent
Mike is a retired banker. He is a Non Executive Director of companies including Truworths International, Artscape and Siyasanga Theatre Company. He is also a UCT Council member and member of the GSB Advisory Board.

jock Jock McKenzie

Jock is a Director of SAPPI, a Trustee of the UCT Foundation and Director of Accelerate Cape Town. He was also President Africa, Middle East and Asia Chevron Corporation from 2001 to retirement in 2004.
