KPMG Named ‘Best Islamic Assurance and Advisory Services Provider’
KPMG was named ‘Best Islamic Assurance and Advisory Services Provider’ at the 2008 Euro money Islamic Finance Awards ceremony in London, UK.
Mallinicks merges with Webber Wentzel Bowens to create legal powerhouse
Webber Wentzel Bowens (WWB), one of South Africa’s leading corporate law firms, will merge with Cape Town-based law firm Mallinicks to create one of the largest legal firms in South Africa.
Country Road launches in South Africa
Woolworths stores will soon feature a select range of clothing from leading Australian retailer and sister company, Country Road.
Womenswear clothing and accessories will be trialled initially at four stores: V&A Waterfront and Cavendish in the Cape and Sandton and Hyde Park in Gauteng.
The range will be available in stores from early April 2008.
Cadiz Freedom Swim
The annual Cadiz Freedom Swim, considered to be one of the toughest cold-water endurance events in the world will be held on April 26, 2008. The swim is an annual event in aid of the Vista Nova School, which caters for children with special needs. Registration details can be found on www.cadiz.co.za
Old Mutual and DTI launch R100m women’s fund
Old Mutual and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have launched a R100 million development-finance fund aimed at supporting women-owned enterprises in South Africa.
The Isivande Women’s Fund aims to accelerate women’s economic empowerment by providing affordable, usable and responsive finance for women-owned enterprises.
