To comply with its constitution, Accelerate Cape Town has rotated some of the seats on its Board. As a result, six new Board members from among its sponsor and member organisations have been elected, and the Board has a new Chairman.
Jock McKenzie is the new Chairman of Accelerate Cape Town. He is a Director of SAPPI and Coronation Fund Managers and a Trustee of the UCT Foundation. He was previously President for Africa, Middle East and Asia of Chevron Corporation.
Outside of work, Jock has an impressive running resume, counting four Comrades marathons and ten Two Oceans Marathons among the 96 (or so!) marathons that he has run. Somehow, he also finds time for bird-watching.

Danie Folscher is the Chief Executive Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers Western Cape, and a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Southern Africa Executive Committee.
Danie firmly believes that the commercial potential of Cape Town and the Western Cape can be realised through effective interaction between the private and public sector. He feels that Accelerate Cape Town has a key leadership role to play in initiating the interaction required.

Ashoek Adikhari is General Manager: Corporate, Legal and Innovation at Media24. He is an attorney and has worked previously for the Western Cape Provincial Government.

Lele Mehlomakulu is the Head of HR at investment company Allan Gray and comes with significant experience in HR roles in several financial services companies.

Gavin Tipper is an executive director of Coronation Investments and Trading Limited and a non executive director of a number of listed companies.

Natie Maphanga is General Manager – Corporate Affairs of Engen Petroleum Ltd. He also represents Engen at Business Leadership South Africa.

Selwyn Hockey is the managing partner of Webber Wentzel in Cape Town. He is an attorney and an Acting Judge in the Cape High Court.
We welcome these new members to the Board of Accelerate Cape Town, and look forward to their contribution.
