It is that time of the year again that we begin to reflect on the past 12 months and start thinking ahead about 2008.
We at Accelerate Cape Town can truly say that we have been through a successful 9 months since our inception in March 2007.
Throughout the past 9 months we have engaged with business, government and a range of other stakeholders to develop a common view of chartering the Cape Region towards becoming a global capital of Creativity and Innovation and for the region to be recognized as one of the best cities in the world in which to do business.
What has been heartening has been the goodwill and support we have received from both the private and public sector.
Our membership has growing substantially over this period.
It has become clear that Accelerate Cape Town will play a significant role in adding value as well as shaping the future socio-economic landscape of the Cape Region.
The Cape Region in its totality has experienced growth far exceeding most of the other Provinces, there has been phenomenal growth within the Cape Town precinct through the Cape Town Partnership, the Green Point Stadium and associated developments has created a 2010 buzz and there has been a general consensus that the growth forecasts going into 2008 looks even more promising.
Over and above these achievements though we believe that we should spend a lot of energy in 2008 on making sure that this expected growth is geared towards an inclusive growth that would benefit all in the Cape Region.
A special word of thanks to all our members who have together with us realised that we need a clear voice and a futurist vision to help shape the destiny of the Cape Region.
Let us all enjoy a peaceful 2007 Festive Season
